As Melbourne Central’s Style partner I was put into Spring Racing mode with Derby Day on my radar. My personal favourite day so sourcing a look to style the shoot was perfect for me. First stop was The Milliners Association of Australia pop up store on level 2 which for the small space is packed full of the best headwear for the entire carnival. For Derby I love to add depth to the monochrome look by adding texture and detail in the styling. This Jane Stoddart piece is the most beautiful piece and one that may find it’s way onto my head at some point through the racing week. To make the black really stand out I added this amazing Saba white dress. The fold detailing and split front gives the perfect amount of edge and glamour to the look. Add a bright lip (and super babe Tara) and head to the rooftop of Melbourne’s most iconic centre and we have one perfect shoot.
