As Melbourne Central's Style partner I was put into Spring Racing mode with Derby Day on my radar. My personal favourite day so sourcing a look to style the shoot was perfect for me. First stop was The Milliners Association of Australia pop up store on level 2 which for the small space is packed full of the best headwear for the entire carnival. For Derby I love to add depth to the monochrome look by adding texture and detail in the styling. This Jane Stoddart piece is the most beautiful piece and one that may find it's way onto my head at some point through the racing week. To make the black really stand out I added this amazing Saba white dress. The fold detailing and split front gives the perfect amount of edge and glamour to the look. Add a bright lip (and super babe Tara) and head to the rooftop of Melbourne's most iconic centre and we have one perfect shoot.

Red is not seen a lot in my wardrobe but I make the exception for shoes. Love a pop of red with denim and to pep up an all white look. My previous post had me in as much color as you will probably see me wear. Somehow a basic tee or a stripe for me brings me back to safe zone and I can venture out into new worlds- Don't get used to it though!

We love a grey.... well anything really. A grey tee is a staple and now a grey jersey skirt is too. Perfect with black and booties and when it heats up white tees and sandals. I had to feat this black knit again and if you are yet to get a black longer line knit you still have time. It is a serious wardrobe winner. I promise.

The basics get me every time. Love a denim shirt and as you know I love some stripes so bringing them together was easy. This skirt is a staple in my wardrobe and will be paired with knits, tee's and might even get a run with a check or print depending how far I drift from the basics.

A lace skirt seems so feminine and when I usually think of lace it feels way too girly for me - enter the leather jacket and make the lace black. You can use lace for so many looks and quickly turn it from day to night with heels and a silk top. My leather lover is from the H&M icons collection and its seriously one of my best finds. They are on ebay still (isn't everything?!) but the alternatives below come pretty close and may I add its never too late in the year to purchase a leather jacket especially if you live in Melbourne.
Next up is the stripe skirt. Are you sick of stripes? You will want this skirt. I know ripped denim and stripes should have their own has tag #instauniform but you can't help what you love and what you are drawn too. Its funny the other day I was scouring ASOS for my next purchase and in the 'recently viewed' items summed up my style exactly. Lots of black, white and grey with denim and plaid. I know what I like!

Yesterday I chatted all things racing fashion at the Emirates fashion's on the field launch. My cute family were in tow and the VRC and Emirates put on a great show. I wore this hot Ellery dress from Myer and thanks to Coco Chanel tweed and a bit of fringing is never going to go out of fashion. The shape of this dress gave a very mod feel and the black tweed is perfect for Derby Day and as a pepped up LBD. Loved it.

A white blazer is the perfect addition to your spring wardrobe. I have been throwing this on with all of my denim and tee's and when I wear these leather pants (always) it lightens the look. Now the grey tee (dress) has been a great layering piece with the length in the back, I am off to get something in white too. I hope all of you Melbourne fashion lovers got down to the Give in Style sale on the weekend. I was along side the gorgeous girls of Bassike as an ambassador and may have shopped up on the racks of Bassike on offer while I was there! Honoured to be involved.

My love for the amazing V+W keeps increasing with every collection. The relaxed, simple and polished feel of the brand is flawless. So many loves and it starting to drop tomorrow! In case you have not noticed I love Cameo. The 'reflection bustier' has the best shape and fit across the bust with cups and support built as the bra must go. My next look with this is must have a tee layered and a pencil skirt.
I am really thinking about my closet and starting to build a solid base of good quality, investment pieces. To start - the ever important tailored black blazer and leather pants.... and the rest I will decide along the way. Of course I will take you along on the search.

MBFWA - Ginger & smart
The digital print speaks so loudly when i am viewing a collection and each have their own creator. Each print is different from the next designer as are the shapes and ways to make the collection their own.
Over at Ginger & smart we saw lace, prints, and an amazing collection of pencil skirts,bombers and silks. Cropped tops were a favourite layered underneath blazers to create a beautiful, strong yet feminine silhouette.
I know its a very over used title but models who are in the mix at MBFWA are the real deal. If you scoff at the term, which granted it does feel like if you pose in front of the mirror you are a model you need to step backstage or ever attend shows of this callabre more often. The girls bodies and presence is amazing. Good on them for ticking all the boxes and parading the finery.
BACKSTAGE DAY ONE
MBFWA in Sydney this week and we have arrived and conquered the festivals day 1.First stop was Hair and makeup at White sands then back again later that night for the fab By Johnny.
My fave show so far is ByJohnny, the neoprene dresses, sheer tops (which I must have) and a floral bomber jachet (that we want a lot). Amazing collection full of heavy materials and prints. Shapes were slim and with the flare skirt bottom on the pieces wowed and had all of us in the crowd wanted all of it.

BEHIND THE SCENES | SHOW 5 LMFF
Featuring some of my faves Sass & Bide, Bassike, AG , Ellery and the amazing Christopher Esber I was excited for this show and it did not disappoint. Leather galore for winter in black, white and AG brought a burgundy too the mix which just popped. I left with a huge list with the sheer panel detailing and leather skirts from Esber at the top followed by Bassike low slung white pants, the incredible black coat (pictured) by AG and the Stripe jacket from Ellery. My heart stopped when Esber started coming out - number one for winter.

I for one am getting pretty excited about this time of year. The new collections are coming and we are fast approaching the cooler days so we can pull out the leather, wool blazers and gear up to start layering - yay!
Kicking off Melbourne's fashion packed month ahead Myer presented their AW13 collections at the beautiful Mural Hall. I was lucky enough to be apart of the night and being dressed by the amazing team at Myer. When I arrived to view the pieces I was immediately drawn to this bronzed goddess (who me? no I meant the jacket) and started the build of the rest of the outfit around this beauty. The bronzed sequins soften the look and is a beautiful contrast with the charcoal detailing throughout the piece.I am not surprised that I loved this and the rest of the collection as the Manning Cartell girls have been getting it so right in the last few collections.
I couldn't disappoint myself and not go for a basic in some of this outfit but it was well called for with a jacket like this. Wayne Copper has some great wool blend black basics and this skirt was a winner.

These boots are worth the wait. I missed the first few drops and thought that I didnt need them in my life but the gorgeous girls at Tuchuzy in Bondi made it all too easy for me to have them. Called me as soon as they were in and expressed them to me in Melbourne. They are in the black leather, perforated leather in black also and these babies. The grey snake with the tan soles are the perfect tran seasonal boot. It's no wonder there is a waiting list for them. The amazing Elle from theyallhateus rocks these in the black on her insta and they are of course on the Tuchuzy insta too. Awesome store, awesome shoes. Get in fast. x

A few weeks ago I spent a day with the gorgeous girls of Ardor, a new online shopping, fashion and beauty destination shooting a piece for the second issue. With my accessory (7 month pregnant bump) we worked with what we had but I was so in love with all of the gorgeous clothes on the racks and which feature in the Ardor store.
