FRESH STARTS

[twocol_one]new1[/twocol_one] [twocol_one_last]

A new year with new goals and if like me a clean out of 2015 to make way for the excuse of the new year to get things in order that got out of hand in the year past. I said I would sign off the year but I got too busy so I will wrap her up and start the new year up all in one. Lets kick things off with a bit of social media banter. The years past was somewhat crazy with the introduction to our humble blogs the extension of social media as a platform that we can do just that and extend our images and words out into wider audiences and use the space as prime advertising realestate. Back when I started my Insta the good old body or leg/foot selfie was a lot less common and mastering the use of VSCO and Snapseed was a leg up but now every scroll I make is full of the same shots and seemingly new versions of those who paved the way through the 101 of how to have a rad Instagram. I yawn at the peace and pout and endless images of your hot body in a bikini and I pray that 2016 is the year everyone starts some new trends or even posts things they create as a beautiful image rather than what they think is the going image to be a success that they have seen on an account that has hundreds of thousands of followers. So on that note lets get some hints on how to avoid the eye roll and unfollow and be a better social media user.

DO YOUR THING

I am sticking to my guns and rolling with what I have been doing 152 weeks ago with my flatlay, leg shots and body selfies even though its saturated but vow to have some cool threads to share whilst doing so. Share what is naturally in your life and what you are doing. Sharing cafe shots makes you get out and about and outfit details makes you sort out your style and what you live in.

SHOW YOUR PERSONALITY

Have some wit, humour or if you are not that funny just give something other than the plug or standard bi line about being in your bed office that you may or may not really be in. Use hashtags well and not just to get more followers (#ootd #love #flatlay etc) When I am struggling to find my brains I fall back into the lazy tag line trap but we make amends. It was ok a year ago but when every second person has the same line and images it loses its appeal.

 DONT BE RULED BY IMAGES

When you see photos and think who is taking all of these you then guess right that someone's life if being drained by you asking them to take your photo at every single moment of your life so take that moment to actually enjoy the time with whoever you are with and that just because it didn't get uploaded to the Gram doesn't mean it didn't happen. Having pictures taken then edit the shots all while out for dinner with them 'enjoying' the company. The quick outfit shot in the street is excused ..... only because your followers got a great outfit idea for a dinner date but live in the moment.

CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE

Dont hate on sponsored posts. Yes there are a lot of people that are full of crap out there with one minute hashtagging the shit out of photos to a still generous 9k of people watching in and next minute 45k with a manager and arrivals at openings of envelopes. These same culprits are of the above nature of poor man's mini me versions of those whom have conquered before them. But it does take time and effort to style, edit and take care of your social media account and when someone is paid for the effort I think so they should. Its their job and they have taken a risk to put it out there. Even those who screen shot and mimic have done some research and taken time to up the anti. Its easy to scroll through as a user and get inspiration and then flick off the app but a lot of work goes into getting the account to look inspiring.

GIVE BACK

With the above I say aim to be giving something back to the audience other than an opportunity to comment on how pretty you are. A selfie where your hair is looking bang on and you just nailed the lighting situation seems too good not to share but spread the love about your hairdresser or the perfect lipgloss you have or something or even just keep them in between other posts that you do so its not a montage of yourself. We know you are pretty and have a good body and you don't need people to say you are ace all day long.

SHARE YOUR ACTUAL LIFE AND BE HAPPY WITH WHAT YOU HAVE

Lastly I do hope that #(insert item) goals has seen the end. Don't worry about what others have just be you and remember that behind that #hairgoals is a hairdresser that just did the blow dry (or they just have hair to rival a Vic Secret angel which I say good on them. Give props and move on) or #homegoals is probably a corner of the room that has been perfectly set up and styled for your viewing pleasure or they have spent a lot of time and a bit of money on their home because thats what they love. A lot of people have better homes than you or are more inclined to go to the gym and eat celery and lettuce but use what you long for as motivation if you feel like you want to step up parts of your life. I can't live in NYC in a loft apartment or on a property in Scandinavia with a pristine all white decor but I take inspo from the things I see and bring it to my own style when I redecorate.

BE ORIGINAL AND DON'T FAKE IT

Do you actually wear ripped jeans and love an all black and white wardrobe or are you trying to fit in to what's 'cool' in other peoples lives? Do you not make your bed or buy fresh flowers to have in your home but rather get a bunch to put in your ioffer fake handbag to take a picture to impress people?(it doesnt by the way, why would you put fresh flowers that have wet ends if you are indeed on the way back from the market in a $3k bag?!)  Its not good for your soul to fake it. Save your money and get a LV if you want one because it makes you feel good for life not just to show off on Instagram. If you don't have the home you post inspo shots of then aim to actually style the one you have not just the desk situation or a bedspread so that you can pretend that you actually live like this. It will make you live your real life so much more and the people around you too, you know the actual real life people that know you and follow you in the real world.

Remember that when the phone is down the people around you are still there and your real life friends don't care about how many likes and followers you have.

Bring on the new year!

DECK THE TABLE WITH STYLE

table17

TABLE16

[twocol_one]Having a good base for your table situation applies for the season of Christmas but also in general to have some great stuff on hand so the decor fills your drawers as well as the tables. I am not really the dinner party type (yet anyway) as in we don't have enough sit down situations where I cook up an amazing spread which I may add I am working on as well with a cooking class under my belt if you don't mind but yet to try out my skills away from the winery scene and someone prepping all of the food for me, we all have flaws right? working on it. We have our friends over for BBQ's and drinks and keep things all very casual in the past but as I get older maybe this will change along with the attraction to gardening (which I don't love) and maybe this whole cooking housewife thing that my mum has always done perfectly. My kids are still young so hopefully they won't remember what feels like the same 10 meals on rotation and dead, sad attempts at herb gardens outside. I have time.

So we move onto what we I covered and thats making things in my life sit pretty and look like I am all of the prior.  [/twocol_one] [twocol_one_last]For Christmas or any occasion I don't like to be typical but always stick to my style just with a bit festive flavour so that you are not a grinch or dressing a table/house for a regular party. I love me some greens and if I could have found some I would have added some white peonies (settled for a print on the menu instead) to the mix. Fill vases with your fave floral and for some season cheer some string lights. A candle never goes astray nor does a candlestick holder and when its time to get simple with lets say a linen runner or cloth just add one or two of these and it looks like you made an effort when you may or may not have a vase full of dried up/dead eucalyptus branches pretending to be a statement of intention which for anyone coming to my house its totally the latter. My last note on the topic is if you have yet to be delegated to table decorator or like me last minute is your middle name be clever with the festive choices to roll them over to further dinner dates and styling. Mixing with my collections of minimal and scandi chic Target filled in the gaps quite cleverly if do say so myself.  [/twocol_one_last]

THE GIFT OF AN ACCESSORY

[twocol_one]u[/twocol_one] [twocol_one_last]

I love to gift as much as I love to get gifts but sometimes I get stretched with ambition of getting it all for all. I have to admit I am not really a bargain hunter and if something is more convenient but a little bit more exy its justified. Factory outlets also overwhelm me a bit with the pressure of stuff on sale everywhere and fear that you may miss out on something because its so cheap. It's a stressful situation! I go in prepared and shop for specifics to avoid shopping chaos. The best gift along with books and beauty hauls are accessories. You avoid the awkward which size do you think they are in clothes and finding the best shoes ever and they end up being the most uncomfortable they have worn and think of you when they don them. You cant go wrong with accessories.

I got my spending in check at UniHill to see how good this girl could be on a budget and as you can see I was ok. Mimco had 70% off stock which left me with this clutch with change from $100. OPI and Essie nail polish on sale and Country Road accessories were seriously stocked up with the fine rings being bought in multiples for a treat to me for being so good at the bargain hunting game. CR also serves up the iconic totes and bags that will not disappoint.

Happy hunting.

GIVE OR TAKE A GIFT OR TWO

The easiest way to buy gifts is to look at what you have on your own lust list and alter accordingly. For eg. Errybody washes their hair (I hope) and we all have the need for refreshers of our bathroom staples and new makeup upgrades so even though it may seem a little erryday a gift is a gift and saves you buying it yourself, its a win. It's about looking at things we need but may not prioritise on the buying list. In this category come Mag subscriptions which If anyone reading this is buying me a gift I cant get enough monthly inspo with Porter, Vogue, Elle, Real living and Russh some of the best but I'm not picky and will accept any subscription donations. Noted?

giftss

Hair care thats so photogenic she doesn't have multiples of any shot in her camera roll. Mr Smith had me at hello and just how I like it - good looks with good shit inside as well.

gifts2

Get onto a subscription! You will be giving Christmas to your loves once a month for the year and they will think of you when they max out the credit card on the stuff they need to buy after reading. Magshop is where its at.

gifts3

Opening up the beauty cabinet and giving what you have to buy yourself. A girls gotta 'maintain' her beauty with highlighting products that are just enhancing what we already have right? Root/grey covering Dry Shampoo, lashes and lets add in some faux tan in a can (I swear by this non sponsored, I buy it by the can load, little piece of magic - Le Tan Wash Off in Deep Bronze).

gifts5

You can never have too many candles.... well if your bedroom starts to resemble a bad romance movie with a heart shaped bed and red rose petals maybe woo down a bit. I love a candle gift and am well over due for some faves which include - Diptique, Byredo, Lumira and Maison D'AmoreLeLabo from Mecca has the option to personalise the label which I may or may not have just added to my cart/list.

gifts6

The product gift pack with a pretty ribbon adorned package that doubles as desk and interior beautifier as well as the product hidden inside. I know its too generous isn't it? The gift that keeps on giving. Hit up Grown Alchemist, Aesop and the shelves of Myer and Dj's.

 gift1

Its hard being organised and I know with my house half finished and 2016 impending. Wall art just like this calendar sitting pretty against the walls where they should be hung and seemingly at me as well reminding me to get my ass in gear. A diary is super handy to make notes and reminders to do things you will run out of time to do but I tell you that there is something really god damn theraptic about putting a line through dot points like a boss. I am sure there are studies to show that you are more productive if you get back to good old days and write shit down...like with a pen....on paper. Up the thoughtfulness and have some initials slapped on and you are a winner.

The Daily Edited and An Organised Life sort this out.

I am not done with my gift giving plans just yet with some accessories up next with some savers and luxe lovers noted.

ADLER X OFFICEWORKS

We have another desk change up and I feel like its being revamped a little too much but I am settling in new spaces and trying to get it in order so soon we can lock down a solid station soon and then add these new additions when they come forth. On that note lets chat productivity which I appear to be getting none but I swear I am and in style too thanks to collabs that bring a staple office go to and an interior power house together so that we can all enjoy the fruits.

Enter Jonathan Adler x Officeworks. Adler a superstar in the interiors and decor world with his pottery gracing the shelves of Barneys over 10 years ago and now sitting pretty on the streets of Manhattan a flagship store filled with his gold splashed and print adorned goods. All very Fabulous right? This dinner set had me at hello.

As we all love a clash of creatives to bring some designer to our everyday and help the credit card along a bit we can all get some Manhattan to our desk. Naturally I headed straight to the first of the two range offerings (which to start with is brilliant in it's placement catering to two opposite styles) the Black and Gold collection. I have said this may times before and I know that you take notice but mixing up your monochrome and muted color theme with metallics is where it's at and this brings all this together. I also believe that if your desk and surrounds are stylish and fitting into your creative vibe then you will be a superstar in what you are doing just like Mr Adler in no time.

All available at Officeworks online and instore now. Black and Gold collection and for the more color and print adventures the Pink and Navy collection . More about my favourites and the inside word on the collection can be found here.

UPDATING YOUR DETAILS

fresh

fresh1

[twocol_one]fresh22[/twocol_one] [twocol_one_last]The small details can make big differences when making updates in your deco and don't forget to make the effort in every space whether you will Instagram it or not. What? Living and not sharing? Yes you heard me. The more renovating and remodelling I do the better it feels and its not just a small pretend area of my house that I take photo's of and the rest looks like crap. Make it to live it and appreciate your spaces.

I hit up Uni Hill to get some pep in my bathroom step and fill bathroom spaces. I admit that I am a bit of a vase and pot fiend and have glass jars and empty candle glasses a plenty to fill. Brushes get prime spot inside the cabinet organisation and now with these new additions spilling out onto the bench. A little bit of France never hurt anyone either nor does a jewellery plate for the finery. Add some peonies or some greenery/succulents and the stage is set for living/snapping or whatever floats your boat.

I am back from a week away in Hong Kong which I will fill you in on when I edit and upload the travel diary, It was fab. As I write this post I am in the middle of the dreaded clothes wash and unpack. I made a pact that every time I go away I leave the house in the best shape I can as on arrival back from being cleaned up after and living in hotels the reality of doing it on your own doesn't hit as hard if its looking the goods when you walk in the door. It took me to move into a new house to be right on my organising game but I don't recommend taking it to these drastic measures! Toss and donate what you don't use and need and your friends will love you for it when you send the clothes bag around for them go through - one ladies trash is another's treasure right? Especially if its got tags still on and in their size! [/twocol_one_last]

My Top Organising Tips

Use jars and your fave candle pots that have done their dash as makeup brush holders.

Where possible have things off the bench in cabinets and display just a few of the best bits.

Choose greenery, indoor plants and succulents as they are easily maintained and if they get a bit sad i.e. dying just add water and you are back in the plant mumma game.

Get new towels and hand towels to feel like a hotel stay and automatically freshen up.

KEEPING YOUR STYLE FOR CHRISTMAS

targsx

[twocol_one]txm5[/twocol_one] [twocol_one_last]Getting Christmas ready and saving your style and home at the same time can be somewhat interesting with the colourful baubles, glitter laden everything and cliche Christmas decorations upon all the shelves. My key tips to getting festive without getting too far outside the style bubble.

Keep your styling consistent

If you are like me and prefer a more neutral and tones back palette then think of ways to bring festive into this style. White and clear lights over the singing flashing rainbow, silver or gold tinsel as highlights to the natural greens and monochrome colouring.

Think outside the square

We get a real tree every year as I can't be with out the amazing smell of pines. I also use the off cuts in vases to decorate next to my succulents and white florals. This pre lit twig tree had me at hello. Simple and modern and the perfect size for another room in the house without the main tree stealing its thunder. You can tie bows on the branches to keep it more minimal as we wouldn't want to show up the main event....or maybe she will?

Embrace the season

I have had a white Christmas with my American family when we were kids and I agree that there is something special and beautiful about the typical cold and snowy season but for us here in summer I say embrace where you live. Use natives as decoration and on the table and angle the style to this more natural vibe. This wire wreath is the best example. Modern and chic take on the classic wreath. When the gums dry up they will hold their place and not look too dead and there will be no need to replace. I tied ribbons from past purchases to bring in my fashion flavour that is constant through my home.

[/twocol_one_last]

txm2

I teamed up with Target to bring my style to Christmas. Luckily for me (and you) they have the memo on the minimal Christmas theme as well with clear ornaments, this frosted green bauble pack and items like the wire wreath up for the taking with plenty of cash left over to buy gifts for yourself and/or others. Even though I did DIY this wreath (it took 15 minutes) I have to admit I don't love to get crafty but I know what I want so sometimes a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. All you need is a good starting point and you see set.

Plenty more ideas on getting your Nordic and minimal Christmas on to come.

I have been M.I.A doing all things home and shooting a few other things that will be here soon. Sometimes  saying nothing is better than something average so I have saved myself for some worthy notes worth sharing with you all. Lots of online shopping dates is getting me closer to home love just like I have with this one. Art and prints on the walls is the key to success in a room but also I think the hardest things master. How much is too much? Where shall I delegate? For me I am very visual so collecting lots of pieces I love and holding them up where I think they may go and deciding on where I will make holes is the freshly painted walls for my picture shelves and nails, much to Nick's angst but he will love it in the end!

Inspo is around at every tab turn and I love Swedish real estate sites for my home lovin as they are straight off the scandi pinterest board win all their raw and minimal elegance. I cant understand what the menu says but you click around a bit and the images lead the way. Note to self - suss out google translate on computer.

Has everyone been watching Suits? I cant deal with the suspense while I write this and watch Harvey in Donna drama and in casual clothes not a suit! Who would have thought a cardigan and chinos could look that good? I have shared a 10 second moment with Harvey and I note my only ever fan girl moment other than when we watched the New York Jets in the Tiffany suite with Salt & Pepper and Chris Rock. Back on topic.

I shall get some shopping links up and when I shop for my home ill share the love but for now I will leave you with my home checklist thus far to getting a minimal, scandi inspired haven:

Linen bedding in white, blacks and greys

Frames of all sizes and mix between white and black. Ikea RIBBA never disappoints.

Frame shelves in case nails in every wall is wearing thin. Again Ikea will sort you out.

Lots of plants, plant stands and pots. I am a super dog mumma and I like to think an ace baby mumma but I do need to work on my plant nurturing skills. I killed a succulent last week! I am going to be better.

MY PICKS AT SEPHORA

Remember back when you would have lists from friends and you had been compiling your own when you travelled overseas to get the basket full of Sephora goodness? A product junkie's heaven to fill up the bathroom cabinet with products that were absolutely going to make big changes in the makeup/beauty routine. If you couldn't wait for a trip to NYC getting my family in America to send it all over for me was quite the effort and I am sure painful for them to be my personal shopper. Oh how far we have come.

We launched Sephora in Australia with a store in Sydney and a roll out of more I am sure to come we are all not new to this beauty haven. I get frazzled when I have too many choices and in a place filled with so many I need help to stay focussed so with the launch this week of Australian delivery I am one happy beauty junkie.

Shopping Sephora is easy and with any department store esq situation you never leave empty handed as a girl always needs a new mascara or brush to get her by. I checked out the Sephora Collection pre launch to give you the heads up on what you should be adding to the cart.

  • Brushes. The multi tasker and The Kabuki both not leaving any hairs on your face making people question if its from a bad tool situation or if its actually attached. Avoid where possible.
  • Brilliant is a word for these bad boys. Pre loaded and ready to wipe the mistakes away.
  • Bronzing oil to make you look like a Brazilian supermodel - need I say more?
  • Liquid eyeliners are everything. All of the options in the Sephora collection flick with perfection.
  • Of course this fancy makeup case to put all of the loot in and sit pretty on the bathroom bench.

I must add that all of the tools e.g. tweezers and sponges etc are all amazing. I have been shopping Sephora branded products for years and they hold their own in the beauty stakes.

BEAUTIFY AT HOME

beauty18

We all know that putting on our face and having the hair in order makes or breaks your mood thus affecting our all over 'look'. Sort these things out and you will feel and look like a million bucks. When a day/week/month of racing festivities rolls around there needs to be plans involved to make sure either bookings are made with the appropriate people or we have our makeup kit stacked and ready to go. If you can opt for a makeup artist I always recommend doing so even if its at your local Mecca or Department store as these pro's are pro's for a reason and as much as you know your own face it is a nice change to the way things are usually done and I don't know about you but it takes a hell of a lot longer for me to do my own.

If the comfort of your own home and hand is more appealing or you left it too late and have no other option lets make sure you are equipped with the right tools to get the job right.

First up is to ace the base. I am a new lover of everything Charlotte Tilbury and her tutorials make you think you are a pro with her application and seemingly easy how to's (check her out here). My number one makeup babe Jade Kisnorbo told me about Miss Tilbury from her days as an English rose working fashion weeks and editorial shoots for work. The Wonder Glow does what she says and her hero product the magic cream is also not a poser and delivers. Get the under coat prepped and flawless and you have made a good start. I have been having treatments at Clinica-lase for months and looking after my skin care regime which has helped a lot. I have LED light treatments, do this Aspect enzyme mask and the day before Derby Day I will have an Oxygen facial -highly recommend! If you are yet to do some face prep or are blessed with supermodel skin don't stress prep and prime with product is for you.

Foundation go to for an event even though it is during the day is Shu Uemera. I love coverage when I have my makeup done so it looks like I have makeup on and I am polished. I am not blessed with flawless skin either but if I was I would still leave the au natural look for the daily grind. If you have a good match of color and don't over do the bronzer and shimmer you won't look out of place for a daytime soiree. Other notables would be Makeup forever, Becca and the new YSL.

Brows, lashes and liner. All face framers and game changers. I have been loving and using Benefit and Anastasia brow products but in Charlotte I trust and now use her three in one brow lift and its the bomb. Line eyes and get some kohl liner action but tread carefully and apply before foundation as its a messy game but looks good in the end. If nothing else go and have your lashes applied at your beauty counter/Mac/Napoleon etc. Mine always look better and stay longer if done by someone else. A lifting off lash is almost as bad as taking your shoes off and doing the walk of shame bare foot on the way out of the track...... Note this is my number one don't do. Burn those balls until you are safely inside a vehicle and feel the heaven of freedom even if for the next few hours you still feel like you are wearing them.

Last note is a finishing spray. I use Colorscience which if bag permitting I take with me to give a refresh if needed.

beauty

ROUTINE BREAK DOWN

Prep with good skin care so the base is ace and apply a primer/wonder cream

Match your foundation shade properly so you can have a full coverage to look more 'done' but don't OD on bronzer and highlighter to stay daytime chic.

If you can't have a pro do the whole face or you just think you have it covered just having lashes applied is always a win if you can sort that out.

HAIR TIPS

Again if you can get into your hair gals a blow wave will do wonders and last the distance. If you DIY make sure you have a good product as base for style hold. My girl Angie @ Body Haircutters starts me early but my limp unruly main loves her for it.

Never have a cupboard without Dry Shampoo spray and powder puff volumising powder. Both with give you air in the hair and you will be feeling like Gisele strutting past the roses at Flemington.  I use Kevin Murphy in both and they never disappoint.

Have someone help with the Millinery or head piece placement and have bobby pins a plenty. Don't EVER think that you have some lying around as those suckers go missing like socks in my washing machine. The volume powder will help with this as it gives grit to the roots an silky soft hair be gone.

Does the outfit begin or end with the Millinery? I personally treat the head wear as the icing on the cake and make my choices based on what I am wearing and it usually involves a piece on the more simple side of life in the way of netting, detailed headbands or a crown. If the floral and gold crown is good enough for Dolce and Gabbana its good enough for me!

I put high importance on having the right millinery and being realistic about it suiting you for practicality and of course style. If you love to be in on the action and socialising is the key objective maybe rethink the oversized brim. If you have a lot of amazing hair and like the mane to resemble a Victoria’s Secret model then opt for a more detailed crown or piece that wont be lost. If the outfit is simple and chic you have a bit more room to spice it up with accessories including the head wear.  Like anything if its not something you are confidant with don’t wear it. Be true to you.

The next issue is finding the piece that you have seen on someone the year before or in a fab raceway guide and having it in the color and style to suit how you want it to roll with your outfit. There are many a Millinery designer including Richard Nylon, Studio Aniss, Rebecca Share and Nerida Winter - just to name a few all offering options in what ever flavour they specialise in.

You can DIY with a trip to haberdashery for the good old lace netting and bits of bling to get what you want or major jewellery and fashion retailers embrace the race and have plenty of headwear options like Mimco and Kookai. You may have splurged on the dress or clutch so the icing may have to be a thin layer but work with what you can for the budget. I highlight that I would always leave some dollars to squeeze something special in if you can as it saves you time and not burning your fingers with the hot glue gun.

If you are yet to be introduced I give you the amazing Eternal Headonist the star of our shoot as we raided the stock to showcase the best of the best in Millinery at this one stop shop with plenty of choices. Just because I am a girl that likes my options and I share secrets I threw in a piece from the ever reliable Asos to make sure everyone is covered and I feel there are no excuses to have a perfect race wear look from head to toe.

Head over to Racing.com for my other posts and plenty more fashion and racing everything to prep for the week ahead at Flemington.

TOP PLACES FOR THE PERFECT PIECE

Nerida Winter - Always brings some edgy glamour to the occasion.

Myer and David Jones - Have the outfit ready in this case as it can be hard to hone in on ‘The One’  without some clear guides in place.

The Eternal Headonist - popping up on Commercial Road and online as well which I am obviously a fan of.

Mimco - This being my top pick for the week ahead

Kookai - Great for the halo/crown lover

Viktoria Novak - Amazing pieces with plenty of leather detailing - just how I like it.

Whether you are as savvy as Bill Gates or as clueless as Cher tech runs the world. As I write this post my computer annoyingly gave me the 'your Mac will sleep soon unless plugged into a power outlet' message as I begin typing and finish up the final edits. As I am a a few steps above Cher which you would hope so given they had flip motorola's with a pull out ariel and an Apple mac was a healthy burger version at McDonalds I have what I need to work wherever and whenever I want. I also fittingly shot and wrote this post on my bed with my camera and memory card the few things missing from the essential collection.

I teamed up with the tech go to Officeworks to share the things you need to have an office on the fly and be prepared for low batteries and annoying warning messages.

THE ESSENTIALS

Backup storage - I have the Seagate 2TB which I am told is plenty even for me who lives through her lens and has data coming from everywhere. You can also backup the iPhone to cover bases.

Flash Drive - I use this for quick jobs and if I know I won't need the entire media library just have the files I need when I am away.

Extreme Glass iPhone screen protector - If you have a phone you need one of these. I know like me you check if you have the phone when you leave to go anywhere and if also like me you drop it like its hot and when hands are full of 10 things thats the thing that goes, you will have a saviour. Number one must have.

Portable Charger -  Again tech game changer. I seem to think that the phone/ipad and as above the computer charges themselves (so inconvenient) so I regularly leave the house and what is seemingly every time I look down to my 25% charged phone. I have a slimmer version of this for my bag and also this one for when I take my full work station with me as it charges a lot more. The next trick I have which I am working on is remembering to charge the portable battery box (Gates 1 vs Cher 0).

Other note worthy must haves would be a tablet case/keyboard, wireless headphones, extra usb cords and chargers and as above a few options of portable charges to cover bases.

Check out Officeworks and the work anywhere collection online now.

RACING,IN THE BAG

[twocol_one]

If like me you time getting ready and leaving the house really badly I feel your pain. Most of my reasons to leave the house later than I should have when going somewhere fancy like the races is packing my things in my clutch/bag then even worse running out of the door late and forgetting my fave lip gloss sitting on the bench. I am here to get you prepared and be really ambitious to think that we could organise these things into the clutch the day before our race day! Nothing worse than being unprepared. A girl needs her bag of tricks.

For an event such as the races I do opt for one of my clutches that gives me a bit of room as it is a long day and stuffing things I may or may not use is not ideal so I like the option of choice.

Obviously the phone is in there and will be attached to you so thats a given but what is a phone without battery so I advise you to invest in something of the portable battery variety to get you from the AM to the PM.

If you are making some racing memories and wanting to keep record of how fab you look being very classy at the races or in my case working some photo action on the day room permitting a camera other than your phone can be packed to up the image anti. If you do not pack item number one (the portable charger) this may come in handy.

[/twocol_one] [twocol_one_last]

Next would be the beauty dept and the touch up hero's inc - Retractable brush, bronzer/powder, blush and of course a glossy lip situation for touch ups. If you are going to go the bold lip of course the lip stick needs a spot. Go by how your skin hold up on a long day. If you usually get oily then pack accordingly with blotting paper and powder of choice. A quick touch up in the bathroom gives you a few more hours of looking fab. I note that I don't ever pack a mirror which could be controversial in beauty world but I figure you didnt go there alone and I hope you have friends like mine that will sort a sister out in cases of emergencies and there are plenty of much larger ones in the bathroom to use and keep the secret that you are indeed without need of a touch up and woke up like this.

Unless you get Uber to the track or you have a butler/driver called Geoffrey and they are available to be stashed in the bag on the way to the track remember the mints. Not gum, just some fresh mints and the mint leaves on the mojito don't count. The finger food and busy social schedule you will have that day calls for it.

Last note - Pack the day before to avoid Geoffrey leaving you behind when you scurry around the house grabbing whatever you can remember to shove in the clutch of choice. Use this time to have one last look at the decision of shoes and if they are brand new swap them for the similar but tried and tested option.

MY TOP CLUTCH OPTIONS

It doesn't always have to be designer and I will say whatever one looks better with the outfit roll with it. I am a buy less but buy better / investment purchaser but I have more limited options which most of all come in black varieties, creature of habit. Olga Berg's new collection is race ready as is Mimco's. I have a few options that I wish I had and some I just may have to consider.

SPRING RACING GUIDE PART 2

Spring is here , finally and with that we come out of hiding and start getting out and about and getting involved in this amazing time in our perfect City. Following the first guide and opening the racing calendar here we move along to the amazing week down at Flemington for The Melbourne Cup. This year I am a part of the number one online destination for all things Spring racing  www.racing.com to cover fashion, headwear and beauty to have you ready for Spring.

As avid racegoers over many years Nick and I have been very lucky to have attended every year and most years if not all but 3 of the days. Very keen obviously and Nick loving his horse racing (I have over the years picked up a thing or two) and me not being able to resist a great day out and any excuse to frock up.

So The Melbourne Cup Carnival. What do we wear on the days? Are hats a must? How do I keep my facing the same as when I took my selfie in the car on the way here?  Four main days at Flemington so lets sort you out with how the days are meant to look and how to make you as polished as Princess Mary.

My number one rule for the season is listen to the rules and use them as your guide to getting it right when heading to the track. It does get tricky I admit when pulling the complete look together to ace it like the ambassadors and regular race girls but the best starting point is checking the days rules along with a few of my own and you will ready to roll/race.

Im going to lay them out plain and simple,  firstly the things to note and remember when choosing the outfit to be noted in the back of your mind no matter which day you are attending.

ITS A DAYTIME EVENT - Think of day time wedding when you get your glam on. We want to be polished and classy. The daylight never lies so the tan overload will be as evident as Kim Kardashians botox and the exceeding amounts of bronzer and highlighter will have you shining like a disco ball. Take it back a notch. For the outfit the same applies. We are getting dressed up but we are not going to a nightclub or bar. I know that this gets said in every racing 'How to' that I read but if you have this in the back of your mind it will help you rule out certain materials, lengths and embellishments.

STAY CLASSIC - Dress for the occasion and remember that the traditions are our longest standing and even when Jean Shrimpton lashed out and bucked the rules in the 60's she was still wearing a shift dress and a midi heel.

Revel in the opportunity to be almost in a theme. Be you but adapt it to the traditions and expectations. If you like me are more of a edgy, tomboy pretty then accessorise with black leather on Derby, omit the florals on Cup day and bring out your girl boss on Oaks (ladies Day) with a pant suit rather than pastel laces. I will lay this all out in detail below and in the following guides.

RETHINK TRENDS - When you are scrolling through street style images and the latest Porter Magazine to bring fashion to the races have the above guides in mind. Lace is a huge trend this S/S so steer towards a style that does have your underwear practically as outerwear. The humble pencil skirt and crop top look (that I will be happy to see the end of) is another example. A bare midriff will not let you pass go. Trends that are perfect are print silk blouses with this neck tie scarves (Chloe), midi skirts, volume and layered separates. Softer prints and tones of red, emerald and navy replace hot pink and neon.

So lets get to our days and the rules that go with the four main race days and plenty of options to shop your hearts out. We will get to Millinery in the coming weeks so lets get the outfit and accessories on track (sorry) first. The first day , My favourite in the fashion stakes is Derby Day.

DERBY DAY

AAMI Victoria Derby Day the first of the raceday's for the Flemington Carnival. The traditional fashion guide is everything Black and White. Personally I like a monochrome outfit in choosing either back or white and then adding the opposing tone through the headwear or accessories. A belted Sleeveless jacket paired with a skirt with volume brings structure and a more exaggerated silhouette.

As I dress in this zone almost everyday the use of textures and patterns within the monochrome adds interest and the play on these shapes and layers/accessories will take it from plain to being race ready.

MELBOUNRE CUP DAY

Arguable the best and most iconic day on Melbourne's social calendar the famous Emirates Melbourne Cup Day. Melbournians flock to the track and 'the race that stops a nation' has everyone in tow.

A day of celebration and moving from the black and white to some color and prints. If like me you live in a more muted and minimal zone I think there are plenty of ways that we can inject some Melbourne Cup Day flair without having to be too over the top. Of course if you can do it and love a bold print then embrace it. Like any of the days we are following guides but being true to your own personal style as well. A fancy, polished version of your style.

OAKS DAY

More commonly known as Ladies Day and the tag explains it all. Release your inner lady wether it be 'Girl Boss' in a strong structured silhouette and fitted blazer or leaning towards more of a girly girl look with florals and lace. I do love the sea of pastels and softer tones on Oaks day even if you are like me and lean towards a stronger, edgy style you can bring some softness through the color. Think feminine details in the styling and for accessories and headwear keep it simple and either strong with floral details or in the name of the Olsen twins lace veils will do the trick.

STAKES DAY

Wrapping up in a more relaxed style yet still polished. Emirates Stakes Day is the true wind down of a massive few months of Racing and a jam packed social calendar. The lawns are less crowded and call for the perfect day for families and groups of friends to have a day at the track. Flats and blocked heels are always welcome especially if you are spending the day on the laws in more picnic mode and if in the Birdcage and corporate situations keep up the style stakes and choose the heels to match an outfit that reflects a more pulled back feel. Flowing midi skirts, Soft silk dresses and prints.

SPRING RACING GUIDE

With Spring in full force/bloom we enter what I personally think is the best time to be in Melbourne where the city comes alive for the roll out of the Iconic Racing season. I know races are all year round and with 64 official race days in the calendar from an event and fashion perspective we narrow the days down to select our biggest on the social calendar. Don't want to be seen going to an opening of an envelope now do we?! With this busy Spring schedule of course comes the new wardrobe and when races are involved it forces you to be the classiest mist polished version of yourself if not always but at least throughout the Spring. We ditch denim and crops, messy top knots, mini dresses and vow that we shall practise and perfect the faux tan! More on the beauty side soon.

For the Carnival I am contributing for the number one racing destination and hub and giving you tips and sharing the best fashion finds to have you covered. We will cover fashion, beauty and have your heads covered too.

Lets kick off our racing lives with the Caulfield Carnival. Caulfield Guineas Day is a nice opener to the calendar with a slightly more relaxed feel than over at Flemington. Caulfield Cup Day is next With David Jones as the major sponsor and Chadstone Fashion Stakes running there is plenty of style at the track. The campaign for the Caulfield Carnival is 'Passion wears many colours' so take a risk and step out from the norm and wear color or a print. Guineas Day is more open to a black and white palette but get into the theme and don some other tones if you don't usually do so.

Moonee Valley holds the Cox Plate which is actually a really fun and relaxed day to gear up for the rest of the Spring. We have been with groups of friends and sat on the lawns and there is a little more room to move around and get involved in the festivities if you wanted a day out with friends.

We sometimes forget about the races that are happening throughout the country racing schedule and they should not be passed over. The perfect days for families or again groups of friends that want to be involved in all that Racing Victoria has to offer on a more casual vibe. Flats and midi block heel sandals , maxi dresses, floral headwear. Working off a more Polo esq and garden party style to embrace a dressed up casual. A day out in the amazing weather with friends and family is something you cant knock back.

No matter which races you attend I would always refer to our lets say 'Most polished version of you rule book' which is as follows:

*For all race days we will outline the absolute DO NOT to ensure you are race fit. No to0 - Midrif showing, denim, sneakers and thongs, head free Millinary, very short skirt/dress lengths, Sequins and nightclub esq fashion. Think day wedding. Be classy and chic.

*Create an entire outfit from tip to toe. Don't bring down a great dress without an equally stunning head piece or forget to brush your hair and paint your toes. This doesnt mean you need a giant peacock on your head just something that compliments the outfit styling. As Caulfield is a little more relaxed with the days traditional rules anything goes as far as color so choose what you love.

*With the above I say - Be you. If you are more Cara Delvine than Blake Lively then embrace your style. I sway to more of the edgy tomboy style over the more glam girly flavour so a blazer and midi skirt combo with a gold leaf headband would work. If you love florals then rock them. You will find shopping easier if you go with what you love and then make it race appropriate.

*Embrace the race. Always have Millinary of some sort on our head. Again if you are more subtle go a detailed headband or floral crown or if you love a wide brim hat then run with it. I will be back with a whole post on headwear so watch this space.

NEW WAY

[twocol_one]po8[/twocol_one] [twocol_one_last]First shot in the new digs in the only room currently not under dust and renovation so we start the set up of the most important part - mine, naturally. Well if not the most important but if I am the one styling and getting the house ready I may as well begin with what I know best and thats a desk that has style.

Sometimes I think we say words but don't really take in the meaning and they become like a catch phrase and the 'IT' word I am talking about 'Lifestyle'. As you may have noticed I have changed my way a little and branched out from just fashion where this site began as I believe in having personal style in all aspects of your life, I guess a case of sorting yourself out. So LIFE STYLE is all of a sudden relevant. Beauty, home, what we wear and what kind of overall style you have. In a way your Instagram feed reflects this in the way you post and edit your life in squares as an over all life filter. The easiest place to set the tone for your home for me is the desk. My color palette, highlight metals and mood of the space helps add the touches to  the other spaces. Obviously black and white gets me and I pretend that we live in Scandinavia and love some cowhides and fur rugs and of course picture frames galore.

I hit up Target this week to show you the new collection and after my last post needed the wire basket in what to cover my bases. We are on the hunt for a new coffee machine as ours has had its day so my double wall latte glass was a water glass for today but will be revised and used a plenty soon. My note after this is collect baskets and have them all over the house. This whole wire basket and its many friends will get moved and used all over the house. Another note is homewares and Lifestyling is addictive! Have fun!    [/twocol_one_last]

THE WEEKS ROLL OUT

The fashion weeks in places you would rather be are happened now. NYC has my heart as you all know and it hurts to see so much of the place all over the web, mags and social media fashion without me in it.
Fashion week or not as I am happy there anytime but obviously they flood in during this time. With this comes of course street style snaps. A general comment on it all was I loved the laid back chic with plenty of sneakers and flats and of course hints of summer to evoke what we will slip into soon. Loved the layering of summer and denim and of course as I have said get yo self a neck tie/scarf. I have been wrapping them around my neck of late from bandana paisley print to the chic black with a lil bit of fringing.

The 'IT' bag is Chloe Faye and its happening hard. I lusted for a bit too long as now its hit the fashion season you will be seeing it swanning around like a chanel. I am still quite taken and do feel the misty beige color way but I have most likely looked and not decided for a little too long so I would be basking in my crowd favourite at its peak of swanning. We move on.

My absence from here has been the longest yet and I am coming with some decent content. I have been quiet on all fronts just doing life stuff for a bit and I can explain later. I do officially have to say renovating and moving in general will not be done again. No million dollar prize here for our hours of home decorating/work and I can also officially note that the block would have me out faster than you can say yes to a free Chloe (faye you haunt me). It is the pits! All will be worth it in the end and this cry me a river sentence comes from me watching Nick demolish the plaster from some chimneys.....I did help carry the rubbish tho and there is now layers of dust everywhere! Seriously though my brain is in home mode and figuring out colors, designs, painting leaves me very vacant by the end of the day. All in time.

On the topic of moving and fresh starts I am helping get our sale on at the best fashion market event you will go too. My amazing friend Angie and superstar hair gal from Boda Haircutters holds Walk in Wardrobe where a bunch of stylish babes sell all of their stuff. Forget 5am wake up calls in the freezing cold in Camberwell. Best part is we give cash to Raise money for Limes Disease. You do not want to miss this. Saturday 27th 12:30 - 4 at Boda Haircutters , Prahan.More meets here. See you there.

As we come closer to the new house and a month thats been quite trying I am back into dream/plan mode getting everything in order. I have a grand plan but with images like these I do waiver a bit on final choices but it will most likely consist of white, marble, some subway tiles and maybe some black and white painted morrocan esq tiles....we will see. As far as decor goes I must say I am not against a trip to IKEA with our Swedish Sisters filling their magazine styled homes with pieces from there all the time and its actually a hub for the best and most innovative designers in Sweden, so there. I am a fan. Don't get me wrong I have a long list of Minimal esq stores and Scandi Interiors online loves that will be hit up too.

In the real world I am getting a bit of glam (heels and out of jeans) and heading to MSFW tonight for my first attempt at enjoying the festivities happening. I may die (I'm dramatic) as I cant shake my hangover that I didnt get from a boozy night out with my friends. Spring is here and I am hoping this is the last winter germ fest for me. I am heading backstage to snap with Dyson and some cool gadgets that are sure to make our skin and makeup life a whole lot better. See you down there.

[threecol_two]s2[/threecol_two] [threecol_one_last]Leather is one of those things that can bring a bit of sexy cool to any look. Same feelings for the humble blazer. The go-to, the fall back boy, the I tried but I am not trying esq situation happen when the above are involved. Enter LXE. The polished, yet effortless ways of the collection can be what you want it to be. Sneakers and split leg pants with a tee or the Ink color leather pants with hot heels and a blazer. All this shot on a beauty like Scherri and it is a win.

Being pretty is great and I know quite a few people in this crazy fashion world that are great to look at but lack in personality and when they do speak you wish they hadn't. Is Snapchat having this effect on anyone else? It's like watching The Bachelor , you will never get that time back but you keep watching even though your brain is begging you not too. (I urge you to check out the hilarious recap on the episodes by Rosie Waterland its too funny). Back to topic and bottom like was that this babe is a refreshing contradiction to be seen and not heard. All round beauty and deserves big things.

I am quite drawn to a new brand as for obvious reasons that you have to start somewhere and and unless you have priors as a reality TV star, or from fashion royalty (or social) the build starts with the brand story and an organic black and white view that if its good and original then you wait to see her grow. It's premium materials and brand philosophy will allow you all to discover rather than have it bombard you with every blogger in Australia roaming the streets getting self papped and tagging it in all over Instagram.  Take note and mark my words that LXE is one to watch and the leather pants need to be in your life.  [/threecol_one_last]

DENIM ON TOP

[threecol_one]We know how much I love a good jean and to be honest they are what make me crave for the cooler weather. When I think about it why are the obsessions not equally spread over all of those in the denim family? Of late the denim up top has been happing more than Kim wears bodycon and becoming the something in the wardrobe that will do the rounds with all others - except my blue jeans and the shirt. The Canadian Tux is a trend that I can not pull off. Maybe because I was born in the 80's it feels too reminisent of a time where even undies were made of denim. Too far? [/threecol_one] [threecol_one]My three go to styles are my oversized American Apparel, my distressed Topshop and the fitted Willow peplum. All in a mid blue rinse and they are about to be met with either the Frame or Jbrand sister, just for kicks.

I note - which I do not take you for a fool that if you want it oversized shop on the dark side in the mens section. They will be boxy and give you the length you desire. This is of course if you cant shop the perfect ladies oversized variety as they may give you a slightly nicer shape.  [/threecol_one] [threecol_one_last]Each to their own.

Tonight is the Myer S/S show in Sydney which I cant wait for and start taking notes of whats getting the wardrobe come Spring. As I have been quite loud and proud about loving the chill with clothing choices as per above give me more options than when I am sweating and always wearing denim shorts. I have to note the feeling that sunshine brings does make up for it...a little. Spring I will ok you but Summer you are yet to impress me. We do have a pool at the new house so this may help?[/threecol_one_last]

WHATS YOUR FLAVA?

[twocol_one]tar100[/twocol_one] [twocol_one_last]Style in your life runs everywhere. If you can work out what you love and where you sit in the style stakes it will hold you in good stead when buying clothes, interiors and even your flowers. Its taken me a few years but I am pretty set in what catches my eye and inspires me when trawling through images and product n the net. As I have said with time has also brought me to applying the rule of 'buy less, choose better' which I have made true in all aspects of my style - in this case my home....well my studio here but same thing. Now this doesn't necessarily mean it has to be the most expensive pick of the bunch as we also know that money doesn't buy style. Its about being smart with what you need to fill the void. I have lots of denim and shirts but I sometimes struggle when it comes to stepping up my more casual approach so I have some Ellery, Asos and Zara added to the mix to fill in.

For the home I know that black and white are my flava with a scandinavian/New York loft influence. In the back of my mind (or saved on my phone) the best homes and images I have seen that fit my vibe then when shopping I know what to filter. I teamed up with Target to see if they could tick my boxes and fill in a void in my Interior stash. You be the judge but from this angle and I have to admit that I picked up a few more than expected and emptied out a few online carts I had on stand by filled with things of slightly more dollar value. I am happy with that!

In other news We bought a house! So I am gearing up for a styling frenzy to get it ready to be the 'dream house'. A few coats of paint and the change of a few doors is the first order of business and then we move in. So many interior shots and exactly what I am talking it going into practice for more than just a blog post and photo shoot. Taking my own advice, know what you want. More on this soon. NECKS IN LINE

For the longest time (at least 6 months) I have been trying to get my hands on the perfect silk neck tie/scarf after loving shirts, tops jackets that have this very detail attached to the style and really I should have just been getting my accessories on rather than the whole number. They are coming but I wait still for the perfect black silk perfection and may just have one made in the interim.

A few months ago I got this bandana scarf and have been wearing it around my neck and wrist and have decided it may be a look that will see the 'light of day' IE showcased on social media or on here.

Chloe instilled the trend on all of us on the fall runway (via Style.com) and I have make mention that Chloe with the genius of Miss Keller behind the reigns is my number one from the fall shows. I am a secret romantic but I like things tough and strong so its the perfect situation for me. The man style mixed with laces and of course thin long scarves topping off all of the perfect looks. After taking a moment to appreciate it all had me searching for 'the one'. If I don't DIY (which means my mum might whip one up for me I have a few cheap thrills until I can find my investment._A2X0053

YOUR SIGNATURE

coco1

[twocol_one]coco5[/twocol_one] [twocol_one_last]I have a lot of fragrances. Lucky for me (and the frangrance) that I spread the love between them all and I am a sharer so my bathroom /office/ bedroom wherever really is practically Myer. The smart part about it is that each one has a special place in life. There are of course some signatures and when those close to me see or smell the chosen one it reminds them of me so I am not too much of a scent ho and stay loyal to a few.

Miss Dior and Stella have been on high rotation for years and the all American girl in my blood had Tommy girl given (fittingly by her American Grandma) as her first. Those days are gone and I will leave the scent with the models that work at Abercrombie and Finch but we had lots of young and fun memories.

We all know no to rub as it apparently ruins the life of the scent much to the confusion of seeing this happen often. Keep it out of the hot steamy bathroom and off the desk space bathed in sunlight even though it makes for beautiful Instagram pictures.

If you leave the house with only one thing on (other than clothes of course..or not) make it perfume. On the flip think if someone has bad breath or B.O thats what I think of when I see them so in short smell nice , its much better. [/twocol_one_last]

MAKING NEW CHOICES

Unfortunately for me I am a slight procrastinator and along with being late its my worst trait. With this comes plenty of 'tomorrows' but I am a changed woman and my tomorrow has arrived in the form of a challenge. Always room for improvement and to make promises to yourself to fix your wrongs.

You may have seen that I have mentioned Studio PP a few times on Instagram and if you have clicked over I introduce you to a seriously cool studio run by Former Olympian Steph Prem - she is the bomb. After years of group training in macho gyms and as an athlete very competitive environments she realised that her zen came from within a more laid back and well inviting experience. Enter PP Studio. If we are being totally superficial the space is amazing with wood floors, simple monochrome color palette in a loft style Interior taking me straight to NYC which I am perfectly suited for.

[twocol_one]MY HISTORY - So I have had two babes (4 & 2) with very straight forward pregnancies and delivery with no separation in my abs with my core probably my strongest part of my body. After my assessment with Steph I am really well aligned and as I know I carry my stress and tension all in my shoulders and my posture sucks. I have never done a reformer Pilates class but a few yoga mat classes and in the past I train with a PT doing Interval training. I wish I could say I live to exercise and that everything I eat is organic and sugar free but its not. I usually train with a weight loss goal in mind and the focus is usually on that rather than the actual enjoyment of what I am doing. I always think life would be so good if I was that girl that is all like 'I cant have a day without working out, I love it and everything I put in my mouth is clean and fresh,my body is my temple' - In some cases however with the loss of fat, cellulite and chocolate personality also leaves the body so without turning into a drainer that only talks about weighing my food and how many kms I have clocked up we start a new challenge to train to be strong and love thy self.

THE PLAN - My 6 week challenge is about getting strong, lose weight and tighten up also to start fresh with my eating and inner health. There is not a whole lot of me time so I will get some zen as well.  Never too late to start again and make new choices.

Along with Reformer classes PP has Studio Two with PP Method, Barre, Boxing Fit and Mat pilates and yoga. I will to 4-5 classes a week with two Reformer classes and then a Barre, Boxing or boot camp to make up the rest of my classes. I am a total beginner in the reformer world but I know the girls will sort me out. I had a consult with Georgia the in house nutritionist and have a healthy eating plan and her services for the whole 6 weeks of the challenge.

Membership info is here and you can book classes online with the Mind Body app with code PPXLSS for 20% off. If you are needing a new motivation or just want to come train with amazing people get to PP.

I will be back with plenty more with the best places to eat, get juices, recipes all from the best as well as how I am going on the challenge.

GREY DAYS

The oversized grey coat (and my camel Zara beauty) have been making outfits look fab all winter. I listed over a few and yes I do believe they are a great investment and you have plenty of options around deepening on the cash you want to splash. I picked mine up in NYC and in its unlined wrapped goodness I am forced to layer which mind you I was going to anyway so forced in a way that one is forced to eat the new nutella donuts that are crazing around, the sudden influx is too tempting to dismiss. Upsize and make a bit of room for the layers hopefully made of material not too many of the above.

As a serial layering lover I do love the coat over a wrapped top and I will layer a tee under this Topshop number as well. Options are what I am about.

Onto some personal notes I have been house renovating and buying up to style for a sale which takes a lot of time and head space. When the girls 'just go shopping' on the block I now totally get it that painting a wall and building a few things might not be so hard after all.....No one is judging my rooms and I was on a budget because I want to spend the money on cool stuff to put on our own home - priorities. So I am back and alive. I am visiting the PP studio girls tomorrow and we start the 6 week challenge the week after but I will be back with some more details on that so you can all (Melbourne sisters) get on it too.

Moving over to a studio/office space so expect a lot more desk life images and maybe another website venture is on the cards too.... Watch this space.[/twocol_one_last]

I have folders full of interior inspo and when a post like this calls I am left in a world of planning and dreaming of how to style a room/corner to emulate some sort of Scandinavian appeal. The way peoples stuff is organised and worked in their personal space makes me inspired. I love to bring in fashion elements in my styling and stick to a similar color palette and style that you would see hanging in my closet. Sticking to what you love and going with what naturally catches your eye makes for constant styling. As in fashion I have my muses and style stars as I do in photography and Interiors. It helps to get in the groove when you have like minded people leading the way.  Lotta Agaton is one of these. She makes you need your home to be in place and to fill it with things to make it feel like a home.

I am so drawn to Scandinavian/Swedish interiors as they feel so full yet they are clean with the color palette and the simplicity of the designs. Wood, greenery, and lots of black and white do me just fine but now lays the problem to have a home where my white framed windows look out onto a stone lined terrace or an amazing yard/field of grass and picturesque hills in the background. Not going to happen as this city girl is seemingly destined to be bound by the restrictions of her neighbours and her local council dictating most everything (another story). I wish I could live on a farm or a winery or some sort of fabulousness.

Worry about your own backyard hey?!

My last week of absence was due to just that to pimp our house out after the reno's to sell (tears form). As I am very visual until things start to come together I won't know what I need and have overlooked which also makes me a last minute maniac trying to pull it off. Almost there and then I have some changes that I am going to fill you in as soon as I can think straight. Off to my other open tabs to checkout some carts full of bits and pieces.

BRINGING BACK POLISH

chlo

I have to admit I have had a massive sneaker obsession the past few months are it doesn't help that my life is full of interiors and renovations of late so being fancy and fabulous lunching and launching all things in Melbourne I have been the casual luxe girl erryday. I actually wear denim/leather pants , a blazer and a tee or shirt of some description to up the knits and layering situation which conveniently  works well with Stan Smiths as well as a hot heel so I am set. When describing my style I would say polished with denim pushing me over to a more casual vibe. Muses are French girls and editors keeping it simple and chic. I have a casual daily grind style and then the more polished version where the silks and blazers/jackets are feed in and of course a statement shoe.

That brings me here. Chloe is one of my favourite brands with the soft yet edgy flavour and lets you be the girly girl or pair pieces back with leather and edge it up. Keller has nailed the military style with the always prevalent silk blouses and embroidered beauties through the collection.  The Chloe mule has come into my life and the block heel is heaven to wear. I find myself thinking of price per wear for the investment purchases and a few times in the past I have been swayed by the beauty of the stiletto heel and red sole and never grab them to wear. I know that beauty is pain but sometimes beauty can be found in sneakers and block heels too.

I am on the hunt for some mid length black skirts of a swirly esq variety which I will compile for you later. My Bassike skirt does the job over and over again and its time for another option.
